Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA) and the visiting Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA), saw Amelia County's basketball squad knock off Cumberland by a tally of 80-68.

With the victory, Amelia County improves its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Raiders host Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA) to play the Statesmen in a James River challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Statesmen come into the challenge with a record of 6-7. Randolph-Henry lost 48-47 in their recent league challenge against Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA)

Next up, the Dukes play the Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA) in a James River challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Cumberland will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Chargers come into the challenge with a 3-10 record after their 54-43 league loss to Nottoway (Nottoway, VA).
