New York High School Basketball - Peru can't hold off Northeastern Clinton

The Northeastern Clinton Cougars basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Peru Nighthawks to 47 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Moriah for a Section 7 Champlain Valley I contest on Wednesday, February 1. Northeastern Clinton will battle a Vikings team coming off a 52-25 non-league win over Ticonderoga (Ticonderoga, NY). The Vikings record now stands at 12-0.

The Nighthawks (1-12) will now prepare for their contest against Northern Adirondack (Ellenburg Depot, NY). The Bobcats enter the Section 7 Champlain Valley I contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Northern Adirondack was nudged by Northeastern Clinton (Champlain, NY), 65-54, in a league contest.
