Hicks Pirates (Leesville, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Oak Hill Rams (Hineston, LA), 61-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Hicks upgrades its record to 16-9 on the season. The Pirates travel to Elizabeth (Elizabeth, LA) to clash with the Bulldogs in a B District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 9-14. Elizabeth lost 74-20 in their recent league bout against Anacoco (Anacoco, LA)

Next up, the Rams clash with the Reeves Raiders (Reeves, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Oak Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 28-9 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 22-4 record after their 69-33 league win over St. Joseph's - Plaucheville (Plaucheville, LA).
