Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX), 8-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Pirates face the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region 1 District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Cooper will attempt to better on its 7-3 season record. The Plainsmen enter the challenge with a 10-2 record after their 1-0 league win over Coronado (Lubbock, TX).

The Cougars now have a 1-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wylie for a 5A Region 1 District 4 challenge on Friday, February 3. Cooper will face a Bulldogs team coming off a 6-1 league loss to Abilene (Abilene, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-7.
