In Saturday's non-league outing, the Schalmont Sabres (Schenectady, NY) basketball squad edged the host Niskayuna Silver Warriors (Niskayuna, NY), by a count of 56-49.

The Sabres (9-5) will now prepare for their outing against Ichabod Crane (Valatie, NY). The Riders go into the Section 2 Colonial outing with a 2-12 record. In their last outing, Ichabod Crane was tipped by La Salle Institute (Troy, NY), 53-51, in a league outing.

The Silver Warriors now hold a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to Troy for a Section 2 Suburban outing on Tuesday, January 30. Niskayuna will clash with a Flying Horses squad coming off a 73-35 league loss to Bethlehem Central (Delmar, NY). The Flying Horses record now stands at 2-11.
