The St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA) basketball edged the visiting Opelousas Tigers (Opelousas, LA), 45-38 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Fighting Blue Jays now possess a 16-3 record. They play next when they travel to Opelousas Catholic for a 1A District 5 bout on Wednesday, January 29.
With the loss, Opelousas falls to 8-11 on the campaign. The Tigers host Cecilia (Cecilia, LA) to play the Bulldogs in a 4A District 5 bout on Tuesday, January 28. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 9-9. Cecilia lost 42-38 in their recent league bout against Beau Chene (Arnaudville, LA)
