Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Craig Panthers (Craig, AK) and the visiting Klawock Chieftains (Klawock, AK), saw Craig's basketball squad knock off Klawock by a count of 40-22.
With the victory, Craig upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Panthers host Metlakatla (Metlakatla, AK) to play the Chiefs in a 2A Southeast challenge on Friday, January 6. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a record of 3-1. Metlakatla won 42-16 in their recent non-league challenge against Nome-Beltz (Nome, AK)
Next up, the Chieftains play the Kake Thunderbirds (Kake, AK) in a 1A Southeast challenge, on Monday, February 6. Klawock will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
