With the win, Luling upgrades its record to 3-17 on the season. The Eagles host Nixon-Smiley (Nixon, TX) to clash with the Mustangs in a 3A Region IV District 26 bout on Friday, January 6. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 13-11.

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Austwell-Tivoli Redfish (Tivoli, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 30 bout, on Friday, January 6. Waelder will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Redfish go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 45-42 non-league loss to Refugio (Refugio, TX).
