The Halifax County Comets basketball team (South Boston, VA), was nudged 31-29 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting Martinsville Bulldogs (Martinsville, VA)
The Bulldogs now possess a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Magna Vista for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 6. Martinsville will confront a Warriors team coming off a 49-36 non-league loss to George Washington (Danville, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 8-10.
The Comets (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 13-4 record. In their last battle, Franklin County was nudged by William Byrd (Vinton, VA), 51-43, in a non-league battle.
