Ohio High School Basketball - Athens succumbs to Vinton County

The Vinton County Vikings topped the host Athens Bulldogs basketball team by a final score of 58-48 in Tuesday's league game.

In their next game, the Vikings face the Meigs Marauders (Pomeroy, OH) in a Tri-Valley I game, on Friday, February 3. Vinton County will attempt to move on its 12-4 season record. The Marauders enter the game with a 5-12 record after their 39-37 non-league loss to Jackson (Jackson, OH).

With the defeat, Athens moves to 6-12 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) to face the Buckeyes in a Tri-Valley I game on Friday, February 3. The Buckeyes enter the game with a record of 13-7. Nelsonville-York won 62-38 in their recent league game against Wellston (Wellston, OH)
