The North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL) basketball nipped the visiting South County Vipers (Franklin, IL), 45-40 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Panthers (10-14) will now prepare for their test against Vandalia (Vandalia, IL). The Vandals go into the South Central test with a 13-12 record. In their last test, Vandalia was tipped by Wesclin (Trenton, IL), 58-48, in a non-league test.
The Vipers now own a 14-13 record. They play next when they host Tri-City for a test on Friday, February 3. South County will encounter a Tornadoes squad coming off a 70-68 non-league loss to Mt. Pulaski (Mt. Pulaski, IL). The Tornadoes record now stands at 6-19.
