In Friday's league contest, the host Shelby Tigers basketball team scored a big 56-7 triumph over the Hesperia Panthers.
The Tigers (12-3) will now prepare for their contest against Newaygo (Newaygo, MI). The Lions go into the non-league contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, Newaygo smashed Grant (Grant, MI), 43-36, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Mason County Eastern Cardinals (Custer, MI) in a non-league contest, on Monday, February 3. Hesperia will attempt to better on its 0-13 season record. The Cardinals go into the contest with a 7-4 record after their 33-32 league loss to Bear Lake (Bear Lake, MI).
