Virginia High School Basketball - James River ripped by Alleghany

The Alleghany Cougars basketball team scored 52 points and held the visiting James River Knights to 11 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Cougars now sport a 10-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carroll County for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. Alleghany will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 66-55 non-league loss to Glenvar (Salem, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-5.
The Knights (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Cavaliers enter the non-league contest with a 1-6 record. In their last contest, Carroll County was routed by Alleghany (Covington, VA), 56-25, in a non-league contest.
