Monument Valley Mustangs (Kayenta, AZ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Ganado Hornets (Ganado, AZ), 60-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Monument Valley upgrades its record to 4-6 on the season. The Mustangs host Chinle (Chinle, AZ) to play the Wildcats in a 3A North bout on Saturday, January 6. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 5-8. Chinle lost 43-39 in their recent non-league bout against Whitehorse (Montezuma Creek, UT)

Next up, the Hornets play the Alchesay Falcons (Whiteriver, AZ) in a 3A North bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Ganado will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 11-5 record after their 63-40 league win over Tuba City (Tuba City, AZ).
