The Central Magnet (Murfreesboro, TN) basketball nipped the visiting Cannon County Lions (Woodbury, TN), 46-39 in Saturday's non-league test.

The (8-5) will now prepare for their test against Franklin County (Winchester, TN). The Rebels go into the 3A District 8 test with a 5-9 record. In their last test, Franklin County was tipped by Lincoln County (Fayetteville, TN), 59-34, in a non-league test.

The Lions now own a 13-5 record. They play next when they travel to Grundy County for a 2A District 9 test on Tuesday, January 9. Cannon County will encounter a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 59-38 league win over Forrest (Chapel Hill, TN). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 11-3.
