The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the West Trojans (West, TX) and the host Maypearl Panthers (Maypearl, TX), observed West's basketball team overcome Maypearl by a score of 80-60.

The Trojans (12-8) will now prepare for their challenge against McGregor (McGregor, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region III District 17 challenge with a 7-12 record. In their last challenge, McGregor defeated Robinson (Robinson, TX), 43-41, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Blooming Grove Lions (Blooming Grove, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Maypearl will attempt to improve on its 3-21 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 9-11 record after their 89-61 league loss to Grandview (Grandview, TX).
