The Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) basketball edged the visiting John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA), 63-60 in Wednesday's league bout.
The Falcons now possess a 10-3 record. They play next when they travel to Magna Vista for a non-league bout on Thursday, January 9. Abingdon will play a Warriors team coming off a 61-14 league win over Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 7-4.
With the loss, John Battle falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Lee (Jonesville, VA) to play the Generals in a Mountain bout on Thursday, January 9. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 3-6.
