Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) and the visiting Lincoln Park Lions (Chicago, IL), observed Shepard's volleyball team top Lincoln Park by a count of 2-0.

The Astros (18-8) will now prepare for their contest against Joliet Central (Joliet, IL). The Steelmen enter the non-league contest with a 5-12 record. In their last challenge, Joliet Central was beaten by Romeoville (Romeoville, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Lions meet the De La Salle Meteors (Chicago, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 11. Lincoln Park will attempt to upgrade on its 16-8 season record. The Meteors come into the challenge with a 1-23 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Jones (Chicago, IL).
