In Friday's league game, the Sturgis Brown Scoopers (Sturgis, SD) football team knocked off the host Douglas Patriots (Box Elder, SD), by a score of 45-21.
The Scoopers (5-3) will now prepare for their game against Spearfish (Spearfish, SD). The Spartans come into the Black Hills - Mount Rushmore game with a 4-4 record. In their last game, Spearfish was dropped by Watertown (Watertown, SD), 42-7, in a non-league game.
The Patriots now sport a 1-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Riggs for a non-league game on Thursday, October 19. Douglas will battle a Governors team coming off a 26-18 league win over Tea (Tea, SD). The Governors record now stands at 7-1.
