In Friday's league game, the Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) football team overcame the visiting Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL), by a tally of 28-7.

In their next game, the Comets battle the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils (Bismarck, IL) in a Vermilion Valley game, on Friday, October 24. Oakwood will attempt to better on its 6-2 season record. The Blue Devils enter the game with a 6-2 record after their 55-19 league win over Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman (Georgetown, IL).
