Fans at Friday's league contest between the Early Longhorns (Early, TX) and the host Eastland Mavericks (Eastland, TX), observed Early's volleyball team top Eastland by a count of 3-1.

The Longhorns (19-5) will now prepare for their contest against Tolar (Tolar, TX). The Rattlers enter the 3A Region I District 8 contest with a 21-14 record. In their last contest, Tolar was knocked off by Peaster (Peaster, TX), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Mavericks battle the Dublin Lions (Dublin, TX) in a 3A Region I District 8 contest, on Tuesday, October 21. Eastland will attempt to move on its 14-17 season record. The Lions enter the contest with a 7-19 record after their 3-0 league loss to Breckenridge (Breckenridge, TX).
