Virginia High School Football - Franklin County topped by William Byrd

The Franklin County Eagles football team (Rocky Mount, VA), was beaten 18-10 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA)

The Terriers (7-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Staunton River (Moneta, VA). The Golden Eagles come into the Blue Ridge challenge with a 3-5 record. In their last challenge, Staunton River achieved victory over Northside (Roanoke, VA), 42-14, in a league challenge.

The Eagles now sport a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fleming for a Blue Ridge challenge on Friday, October 27. Franklin County will meet a Colonels team coming off a 14-13 league loss to Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Colonels record now stands at 4-4.
