Brewer Patriots (Somerville, AL) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team nip the host Scottsboro Wildcats (Scottsboro, AL), 34-31 in a league battle.

With the win, Brewer advances its record to 2-4 on the season. The Patriots host Boaz (Boaz, AL) to play the Pirates in a 5A Region 8 battle on Friday, October 10. The Pirates go into the battle with a record of 5-1. Boaz won 28-24 in their recent league battle against Sardis (Boaz, AL)

The Wildcats now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Guntersville for a 5A Region 8 match on Friday, October 10. Scottsboro will confront a Wildcats squad coming off a 34-16 non-league win over Grissom (Huntsville, AL). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-0.
