Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL), 48-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Massac County upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Patriots host Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 21. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 2-0.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) in a South Seven bout, on Tuesday, November 21. Marion will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Orphans come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 47-34 non-league loss to Mater Dei (Breese, IL).
