In Monday's non-league test, the New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX) basketball squad defeated the visiting Shepherd Pirates (Shepherd, TX), by a final score of 52-35.

Next, the Bulldogs clash with the Groveton Indians (Groveton, TX) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, December 3. New Waverly will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Indians come into the test with a 0-2 record after their 37-27 non-league loss to Cayuga (Cayuga, TX).

The Pirates (2-5) will now prepare for their test against Hardin-Jefferson (Sour Lake, TX). The Hawks come into the 4A Region III District 19 test with a 7-8 record. In their last test, Hardin-Jefferson went down by Shadow Creek (Pearland, TX), 74-33, in a non-league test.
