Xavier Saints (Cedar Rapids, IA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Bishop Heelan Catholic Crusaders (Sioux City, IA), 62-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Xavier upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Saints travel to Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA) to play the Go-Hawks in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3. The Go-Hawks go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Waverly-Shell Rock won 62-43 in their recent non-league bout against Western Dubuque (Epworth, IA)

Next up, the Crusaders play the Lewis Central Titans (Council Bluffs, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 29. Bishop Heelan Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 60-39 non-league win over Underwood (Underwood, IA).
