New York High School Basketball - Summit Academy nips New Dorp

November 29, 2025: Staten Island, NY 10306

In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Summit Academy Eagles basketball squad scored a tight 53-49 victory over the New Dorp Central Cougars.

With the victory, Summit Academy advances its record to 1-1 on the year. The Eagles host Prospect Heights (Brooklyn, NY) to face the Cardinals in a PSAL 2A Brooklyn II match on Tuesday, December 2. The Cardinals enter the match with a record of 0-1. Prospect Heights lost 60-28 in their recent non-league match against Adams Street Academy (Brooklyn, NY)

The Central Cougars now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bergtraum for a non-league match on Monday, December 1. New Dorp will battle a Blazers team coming off a 97-25 non-league win over Irving (New York, NY). The Blazers record now stands at 1-0.
