In Friday's league outing, the Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA) basketball squad felled the host Sioux Central Rebels (Sioux Rapids, IA), by a margin of 48-38.

The Mustangs (2-0) will now prepare for their outing against Pocahontas (Pocahontas, IA). The Indians go into the Twin Lakes outing with a 2-1 record. In their last outing, Pocahontas thwarted Northwest Webster (Manson, IA), 55-42, in a league outing.

The Rebels now own a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to Alta-Aurelia for a Twin Lakes outing on Tuesday, December 5. Sioux Central will clash with a Warriors squad coming off a 62-14 non-league win over Storm Lake St. Mary (Storm Lake, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 3-0.
