Michigan High School Basketball - Avondale thwarts Athens

December 10, 2024: Troy, MI 48085

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Avondale Yellowjackets (Auburn Hills, MI) and the host Athens Red Hawks (Troy, MI), observed Avondale's basketball team knock off Athens by a score of 63-45.

The Yellowjackets (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Salem (Canton, MI). The Rocks come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Salem was knocked off by Skyline (Ann Arbor, MI), 50-43, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Red Hawks encounter the Troy Colts (Troy, MI) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 13. Athens will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Colts come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 61-45 non-league loss to Clarkston (Clarkston, MI).
