Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), 31-15 in a league bout.

With the win, Hayesville upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Swain County (Bryson City, NC) to play the Maroon Devils in a 1A Conference 43 bout on Friday, December 16. The Maroon Devils go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Swain County won 61-56 in their recent league bout against Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Robbinsville Black Knights (Robbinsville, NC) in a 1A Conference 43 bout, on Friday, December 16. Murphy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Black Knights go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 78-59 league loss to Cherokee (Cherokee, NC).
