The McGuffey Highlanders basketball team scored 57 points and limited the host Southmoreland Scotties to 24 in the Highlanders non-league triumph on Friday.

The Highlanders now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Keystone Oaks for a non-league game on Monday, December 16. McGuffey will confront a Golden Eagles team coming off a 60-57 league loss to Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Southmoreland falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Scotties host Ringgold (Monongahela, PA) to confront the Rams in a WPIAL 4A 3 game on Monday, December 16. The Rams go into the game with a record of 2-2. Ringgold lost 41-27 in their recent league game against Belle Vernon (Belle Vernon, PA)
