Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Northgate Broncos (Walnut Creek, CA), 47-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pittsburg upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Pirates travel to Concord (Concord, CA) to clash with the Minutemen in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Minutemen go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Concord won 44-36 in their recent non-league bout against Deer Valley (Antioch, CA)

Next up, the Broncos clash with the Benicia Panthers (Benicia, CA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. Northgate will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 44-29 non-league loss to El Dorado (Placerville, CA).
