Madawaska Owls (Madawaska, ME) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Central Aroostook Panthers (Mars Hill, ME), 51-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Madawaska upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Owls host Van Buren (Van Buren, ME) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Van Buren lost 72-20 in their recent league bout against Katahdin (Sherman Station, ME)

Next up, the Panthers play the Fort Fairfield Tigers (Fort Fairfield, ME) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. Central Aroostook will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
