Sherrard Tigers (Sherrard, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Annawan Braves (Annawan, IL), 48-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sherrard upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Tigers host Mercer County (Aledo, IL) to clash with the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 7-1.

Next up, the Braves clash with the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars (Oneida, IL) in a Lincoln Trail bout, on Saturday, December 17. Annawan will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 70-51 non-league loss to Midland (Varna, IL).
