Virginia High School Basketball - Mecklenburg County tipped by Halifax County

The Halifax County Comets basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Mecklenburg County Phoenix to 57 in the Comets league triumph on Friday.

The Comets now sport a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Person for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 17. Halifax County will meet a Rockets team coming off a 86-51 non-league win over Vance County (Henderson, NC). The Rockets record now stands at 7-0.

The Phoenix (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Heritage (Lynchburg, VA). The Pioneers enter the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Heritage was nudged by Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA), 62-43, in a league contest.
