The Wheatley Wildcats basketball team (Houston, TX), was nudged 57-55 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Yates Lions (Houston, TX)

The Lions now possess a 10-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Texas City for a non-league battle on Saturday, December 17. Yates will confront a Stingarees team coming off a 67-32 non-league win over Westbury (Houston, TX). The Stingarees record now stands at 7-7.

The Wildcats (4-8) will now prepare for their battle against Scarborough (Houston, TX). The Spartans come into the 4A Region III District 21 battle with a 0-3 record. In their last battle, Scarborough was nudged by Wharton (Wharton, TX), 80-12, in a non-league battle.
