The Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings to 40 in the Go-Hawks non-league victory on Monday.
The Go-Hawks now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crestwood for a Northeast Iowa contest on Tuesday, December 20. Waverly-Shell Rock will battle a Cadets team coming off a 65-51 non-league loss to Forest City (Forest City, IA). The Cadets record now stands at 4-4.
The Vikings (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against South Tama County (Tama, IA). The Trojans come into the WAMAC - West contest with a 1-6 record. In their last contest, South Tama County was defeated by East Marshall (Le Grand, IA), 40-39, in a non-league contest.
