Ocean Township Spartans (Oakhurst, NJ) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Donovan Catholic Griffins (Toms River, NJ), 36-23 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Ocean Township upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Spartans host Liberty (Jackson, NJ) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 22. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 1-1. Liberty lost 49-23 in their recent non-league bout against Monmouth Regional (Tinton Falls, NJ)

Next up, the Griffins play the Shore Regional Blue Devils (West Long Branch, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 23. Donovan Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 68-6 non-league win over Lakewood (Lakewood, NJ).
