Perryville Mustangs (Perryville, AR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Magnet Cove Panthers (Malvern, AR), 47-21 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Perryville upgrades its record to 7-8 on the season. The Mustangs host Maumelle Charter (Maumelle, AR) to play the Falcons in a 3A Region 5 bout on Friday, January 5. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 12-7.

Next up, the Panthers play the Jacksonville Lighthouse Wolves (Jacksonville, AR) in a 2A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Magnet Cove will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 5-10 record after their 61-34 league loss to Bigelow (Bigelow, AR).
