The Lufkin Panthers basketball team scored 46 points and limited the visiting Nederland Bulldogs to 29 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Panthers now possess a 22-2 record. They play next when they travel to Mt. Pleasant for a 5A Region II District 10 game on Tuesday, December 31. Lufkin will confront a Tigers team coming off a 68-61 non-league loss to Melissa (Melissa, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 15-3.

With the loss, Nederland falls to 15-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Sterling (Baytown, TX) to confront the Rangers in a 5A Region III District 19 game on Friday, January 3. The Rangers go into the game with a record of 16-7. Sterling won 64-62 in their recent non-league game against Channelview (Channelview, TX)
