The Meridian Trojans basketball squad (Bellingham, WA), was crushed 72-40 in Saturday's league battle with the host Burlington-Edison Tigers (Burlington, WA)
With the victory, Burlington-Edison advances its record to 8-0 on the year. The Tigers host Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA) to meet the Lyncs in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle on Friday, January 3. The Lyncs enter the battle with a record of 6-1. Lynden Christian lost 56-53 in their recent non-league battle against White River (Buckley, WA)
The Trojans now own a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mt. Baker for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle on Saturday, January 4. Meridian will meet a Mountaineers squad coming off a 60-19 non-league win over Granite Falls (Granite Falls, WA). The Mountaineers record now stands at 5-3.
