The Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars (Murfreesboro, TN) basketball edged the host Santa Fe Wildcats (Santa Fe, TN), 51-46 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 5-3 record. They play next when they host Franklin Road Academy for a Division II-A Middle District 3 bout on Friday, January 3. Middle Tennessee Christian will play a Panthers team coming off a 55-41 non-league win over Silverdale Academy (Chattanooga, TN). The Panthers record now stands at 6-4.

With the loss, Santa Fe falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Battle Creek (Spring Hill, TN) to play the Grizzlies in a non-league bout on Friday, January 3. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 1-13. Battle Creek lost 61-20 in their recent non-league bout against Community (Unionville, TN)
