The Riverdale Rams basketball team (Port Byron, IL), was nudged 52-51 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL)
The Comets now possess a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Bede for a Three Rivers - East battle on Tuesday, January 3. Newman Central Catholic will battle a Bruins team coming off a 46-41 non-league loss to Woodland (Streator, IL). The Bruins record now stands at 3-9.
The Rams (9-6) will now prepare for their battle against Morrison (Morrison, IL). The Mustangs come into the non-league battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Morrison was nudged by Beecher (Beecher, IL), 72-50, in a non-league battle.
