The Deer River Warriors basketball team scored 87 points and limited the visiting Mesabi East Giants to 47 in the Warriors non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Warriors now have a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Nashwauk-Keewatin for a A Section 7 game on Friday, December 6.

With the loss, Mesabi East falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Giants travel to Proctor (Proctor, MN) to confront the Rails in a AA Section 7 game on Thursday, December 5. The Rails go into the game with a record of 2-0. Proctor won 62-57 in their recent league game against Greenway (Coleraine, MN)
