The Valley Vikings basketball team scored 58 points and limited the visiting Cheyenne Desert Shields to 54 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Monday.

The Vikings now have a 4-8 record. They play next when they travel to Sunrise Mountain for a 4A Mountain game on Monday, January 6. Valley will confront a Miners team coming off a 72-20 non-league loss to Somerset Academy Losee (North Las Vegas, NV). The Miners record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Cheyenne falls to 3-12 on the campaign. The Desert shields host Somerset Sky Pointe (Las Vegas, NV) to confront the Eagles in a 4A Desert game on Monday, January 6. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 6-8. Somerset Sky Pointe won 56-50 in their recent non-league game against Pahrump Valley (Pahrump, NV)
