Georgia High School Basketball - Calhoun County thwarts Mitchell County

December 6, 2024: Edison, GA 39846

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Calhoun County Cougars (Edison, GA) and the visiting Mitchell County Eagles (Camilla, GA), observed Calhoun County's basketball team knock off Mitchell County by a score of 57-43.

The Cougars (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Early County (Blakely, GA). The Bobcats come into the A D2 Region 1 challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Early County prevailed over Pelham (Pelham, GA), 39-33, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Terrell County Greenwave (Dawson, GA) in a A D2 Region 1 test, on Tuesday, December 10. Mitchell County will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Greenwave come into the test with a 3-2 record after their 47-25 non-league loss to Westover (Albany, GA).
