Musselman Applemen (Inwood, WV) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Goretti Gael (Hagerstown, MD), 47-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Musselman upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Applemen host Buckhannon-Upshur (Buckhannon, WV) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 29. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a record of 2-0.

Next up, the Gael play the Brunswick Railroaders (Brunswick, MD) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 10. Goretti will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Railroaders come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 72-39 non-league loss to Liberty (Sykesville, MD).
