Sapulpa Chieftains (Sapulpa, OK) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Bergman Panthers (Bergman, AR), 51-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sapulpa upgrades its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Northside (Fort Smith, AR) to confront the Grizzlies in a non-league battle on Friday, December 8. The Grizzlies come into the battle with a record of 5-1. Northside won 56-33 in their recent non-league battle against Greene County Tech (Paragould, AR)

The Panthers (18-2) will now prepare for their battle against Greene County Tech (Paragould, AR). The Golden Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, Greene County Tech was nudged by Northside (Fort Smith, AR), 56-33, in a non-league battle.
