Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 57-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Nansemond River upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Warriors host Gloucester (Gloucester, VA) to play the Dukes in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Dukes go into the bout with a record of 0-5. Gloucester lost 72-25 in their recent league bout against Warwick (Newport News, VA)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the New Kent Trojans (New Kent, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Lakeland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 4-0 record after their 80-43 league win over Bruton (Williamsburg, VA).
