Haughton Buccaneers (Haughton, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Quitman Wolverines (Quitman, LA), 45-25 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Haughton upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Buccaneers host Byrd (Shreveport, LA) to clash with the Yellow Jackets in a 5A District 1 bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Byrd won 58-56 in their recent league bout against Airline (Bossier City, LA)

Next up, the Wolverines clash with the Simsboro Tigers (Simsboro, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Quitman will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 67-34 non-league win over Atlanta (Atlanta, LA).
